Tent Living is a chronicle of one man’s life in a 12' x 14' canvas wall tent. For three years, David Shilling lived in a tent in the woods of rural Virginia. This blog chronicles his entire three-year experience. You’ll find practical tips on all aspects of long-term tent living, and read about the author’s spiritual journey as he discovers the true meaning of simple living.

Winter Melancholy
It's the last day of December and I'm feeling down. The tent feels awfully small this time of year. The days are short, and I just want to sleep. I need some sun! I start feeling this way every year around this time. January is tough, too. But once February is near, I know it's about over.

You sing an honest tune my friend. I'll keep you, and an early spring, in my prayers
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nate
DeleteHow is land search going? I'm looking at doing the same thing you are, except my "tent" will be 25x20 and have all the amenities of an off grid cabin. Also I will be able to pick up and move in a day or two.
ReplyDeleteI've decided to keep my land search among my friends only so that I don't attract too much attention from county authorities. So far I've had some offers, and one in particular still looks promising. Best of luck on your adventure! Please keep me posted.
